Biblical Philosophy (BPH 401-403)
The objective of Biblical Philosophy is to arrive at a working understanding of one possible approach to understanding the teaching of the Bible. The purpose is to explore, critique, and respond to a systematic framework for understanding the message and worldview of the Bible. Students are expected to use the intellectual tools and resources gained in the first three years of their Gutenberg education to determine to what extent they agree or disagree with the framework. The goal is to interest each student in constructing his own framework for understanding the Bible by bringing him into conversation and dialogue with the framework offered by another and, further, by giving each student an opportunity to use the intellectual resources that his Gutenberg education has given him.
