DESCRIPTION:Students at Gutenberg College read and discuss thought-provoking books\, and we want to share with the public the enjoyment and camaraderie of such an endeavor through Chapterhouse\, a monthly reading-and-discussion group for adults and high school students. Join us for the 2026-2027 school year to read C. S. Lewis’s Space Trilogy\, beginning with Out of the Silent Planet. \nThe novels of Lewis’s Space Trilogy are more than just stories of travel between planets. He weaves into them explorations of good and evil\, the psychology of faith\, and the logical consequences of opposing worldviews. The depth of ideas in the stories makes them ideal to discuss in community. To make this discussion possible in the midst of busy lives\, we will go at the pace of around 100 pages per month. \nOur first Lewis meeting will be Monday\, October 12\, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.\, at Gutenberg College\, 1883 University Street\, Eugene. Please read and come prepared to discuss the first thirteen chapters of Out of the Silent Planet.
