My Righteous One Shall Live by Faith

2027 Winter Institute

January 23, 2027

Faith is integral to the Christian life. In Hebrews we read that those who have faith preserve their souls, for God’s righteous one shall live by faith. At the 2027 Winter Institute, we will contemplate the nature of this faith through discussion, lecture, and art. We will read about the life of faith (and imperfection) led by Abraham. We will examine the heroes of faith from Hebrews 11 and consider what sort of faith they had. We will explore the insights of past thinkers, including Kierkegaard and Calvin. We will also reflect on faith through the visual art of guest artist Marianne Scrivner.

Please join us on January 23rd for a day of learning, food, and community as we seek together to live the life of faith.

Art of Marianne Scrivner

“Nothing Is Wasted” is a visual art exhibition by Marianne Scrivner that explores both the tension of trusting God in a world that contains suffering and darkness and the call to live into the “cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1) by faithfully pursuing Christ in one’s own particular story.
